The Show
Classic Rock and Beyond has been on the air since 2004, making it one of the original Voice of Vashon shows. It all started when 11-year-old Drew Pine convinced his dad Doug to drive him to the original Voice of Vashon studio at Sunrise Ridge. Two decades later, the father-son duo is still at it — now producing from the Jean Bosch Broadcast Studio in Vashon Town.

Every Sunday from Noon to 2pm on 101.9FM KVSH-LP, we bring you a carefully curated blend of great music, witty banter, and the segments you’ve come to expect. Tune in, or don’t!™

Your Hosts
Drew Pine — Host and co-founder of the show. Drew has been behind the mic since he was 11, and handles all production, music selection, and the show’s online presence. He keeps the playlists fresh with picks that bridge classic rock and modern discoveries.
Doug Pine — Co-host, co-founder, and Drew’s dad. Doug is an accomplished musician who currently fronts beloved Vashon Island band No Strings Attached. He brings decades of music knowledge and an encyclopedic memory for rock history to every show. Doug is also the mastermind behind the show’s Weird News segment and his signature rant corner, Things That Make Doug Mad — both of which have become fan favorites and a defining part of the CRAB experience.

The Studio
We broadcast from the Jean Bosch Broadcast Studio at Voice of Vashon in Vashon Town. It’s a long way from the original Sunrise Ridge studio with its CRT monitors and CD racks, but the spirit’s the same.

Regular Segments
Weird News — Because rock and roll has always attracted strange stories. Each show features a roundup of the week’s oddest headlines. Since Episode 8, Doug has been working through all 50 states alphabetically — with Florida making every episode regardless.
Things That Make Doug Mad — Exactly what it sounds like. Doug has opinions, and this is where he shares them. Past targets include left-lane campers, the Washington State Ferry system, smart refrigerators, and tourists who visit the island troll without common sense.
The Drew and Mark Show Archives — Before Classic Rock and Beyond’s return, Drew co-hosted The Drew and Mark Show on KVSH (2016-2018), which featured live in-studio performances from local and touring bands. This segment resurfaces those recordings, bringing live tracks from artists like Dusty, General Mojo’s, dentaru no tsuba, Vervex, and The Co Founder back to the airwaves.
